Short introduction of Lavenham & Blackhorse Lane Ateliers
Lavenham is an English manufacturer of high quality country clothing and horse rugs. The Lavenham brand was founded in 1969 when they manufactured the first nylon quilted horse rug which was followed by matching jackets and waistcosts with the idea the rider would match their horse. The Lavenham jackets are still made in their factory in Suffolk – England, from quilting to final inspection.
Blackhorse Lane Atleliers are making ready-to-wear selvedge and organic raw denim jeans from their atelier in London, England. Blackhorse Lane Ateliers has a strong focus on sustainability, community and unmatched quality. Blackhorse Lane Ateliers opened their doors in April 2016, after their founder Bilgehan ‘Han’ Ates worked for 25 years in the textile industry.

Lavenham X Blackhorse Lane Ateliers
For Autumn 17 Lavenham teamed up the craftsman from Blackhorse Lane Ateliers to create a quilted denim jacket and jeans for both men and women. Both items are made of 14oz denim with golden selvedge, a quality that turns into a beautiful shade when it fades with wears. The golden selvage fabric has a natural slubby texture which feels perfect for the collaboration. The selvedge denim is quilted in Lavenham’s one inch vertical quilt stitch and the jeans have been constructed by the skilled technicians at Blackhorse Lane Ateliers. The collaboration jackets are crafted by hand at Lavenham.
Nicky Santomauro, Managing Director of Lavenham said about the collaboration: “We are delighted to be working with Blackhorse Lane Ateliers this season, the newest jean maker in London. Their craftsmanship and quality is second to none, only working with the very best selvedge denim and with a focus on sustainability”.
The Lavemham X Blackhorse Lane Ateliers collaboration is available from August 2017 through the Lavenham site here.
