This November a new denim book will be launched called True Fit: A Collected History of Denim. The book is a project by Viktor Fredbäck. Viktor is a Swedish denim collector who travels to old silver mines in the Nevada desert in hopes of digging up historic jeans from the 1800’s. This is the story of his passion and how each garment fits into his great historical puzzle. Through this book, he shows for the first time his unique collection. But in an unique way, not simpel product shots, but he brought back the items back to live by making shots of the items which are worn by models. It shows the present at the birth of the garment in the mid-1870s and follow its evolution a hundred years forward in time (from the 1870’s till the 1970’s). The account of the history of jeans also reveals that the garment makes up an integral part of American heritage. The book is 272 pages thick filled with full colour pictures. Below some sneak pages. Well done Viktor!
