A New Kingpins Show Edition In Amsterdam

Next month, on the 18th and 19th of October the denim fabric Kingpins Show is taking place in Amsterdam again. The denim fabric show that has been going strong since 2004 will set up another show for all denim heads. All the blue indigo-hearted people from all over the world will come together to celebrate their love for denim. Designers, product managers, brand owners, stylist, media, influencers, you name it and they will be all together under one roof for all things denim.

The Location Of Kingpins Show

The Kingpins Show will take place again in SugarCity, a former sugar factory that opened its doors originally in 1863 in Halfweg. Soon, a few years after its opening, the sugar factory closed, followed not much later by N.V. Suikerfabriek Holland. In 1919, it became part of the Central Sugar Company. This gave rise to the name CSM-Suikerfabriek.

The CSM Sugar Factory was established in 1919 to produce sugar from sugar beet. From the mid-1970s, the company grew into a large concern. Sugar production gradually got a smaller and smaller share in the company. As a result, and due to economies of scale of sugar factories, the number of sugar factories in the Netherlands shrinks. The factory in Halfweg also came to an end; in 1992 the CSM sugar factory closed its doors.

With the closure, about 110,000 m² of land area was released for redevelopment. This is about a third of the area of the entire municipality.

At the Kingpins Show you can explore all the latest denim developments from the most outstanding denim mills around the world. The new denim collections of the mills will be presented from America to Europe to Asia. The top-notch denim mills will showcase the current and future trends as it comes to denim.

Next to the new developments by the denim mills, there’s always an inspirational program at the Kingpins Show. Expect trend talks, installations, meet & greets, expos, a store filled with treasures, and many more denim and related set-ups.
