American West Paintings by Mark Maggiori
The paintings from Mark Maggiori takes you to the Amercian West. Mark Maggiori is a very talented painter that originally comes from France. When he was only 15 years old he made a Holiday trip from New York to San Francisco. During this month long trip his love and fascination of the West started to grow.
Years later he decided to start at the Academie Jullian. This is the same Academie where Western greats Ernest L. Blumenschein, Burt Geer Phillips and Joseph Henry Sharp had also studied before they helped form the Taos Society of Artists. After the Academy he toured a lot through Europe with his music band. They were very successful.
His Growing Passion for Western Art
His still growing passion for the States brought him back where it all started as a young kid. Together with his wife Petecia Lefawnhawk they travelled through the West. When he was at the age of 36 he started to paint Western art. As a French man, and being new in the Western art world, he was a bit of an outsider in the beginning. But a few years later he would be one of the leaders in the Western art scene.
His work brought many new opportunities, including important solo and group shows, and a significant showing at the 2017 Night of Artists at the Briscoe Western Art Museum. He won the Sam Houston award. During this time he spent time on ranches with cowboys and on the horseback to explore more of the Western lifestyle. He spent time in New Mexico, Arizona and Wyoming.
The work of Mark Maggiori captures the beautiful ranchers and cowboys Western life. It shows his authentic and craftsman skills. It will blow you mind away!
