The Workwear and Military Styles By Bielby’s
The Bielby’s brand by Tom Bielby is focused on handmade classic clothing styles that are born from nostalgia. Key to his items is the authentic spirit where quality is guaranteed. His collection goes from classic selvedge denim styles to military and workwear-inspired and timeless pieces.
The Start Of The Bielby’s Brand
In 2020 Tom Bielby graduated with a first-class degree in Fashion Design & Technology from Manchester Met, and since then he’s been creating authentic, the 1930s-40s American-inspired workwear from his workshop in Hull, England. He founded Bielby’s in part out of a visceral distaste for work, he had been a pot washer while studying and knew ‘conventional’ jobs were not his calling, but mainly, he supposes, out of a love and admiration for craftsmanship and the genius that goes into it.
Handmade Styles Made On Authentic Sewing Machines
Every item from Bielby’s is made by hand in England to achieve the best result possible. Each step, from cutting the pattern, and sewing to the finish of each style is carefully done on vintage sewing machines that once powered the factories and workshops in America. Every style is made to last long, and will only get better with time and age, like a fine bottle of whiskey.
The Styles Within The Collection
Within the collection of Bielby’s, there’re styles made of the finest Japanese selvedge fabrics from mills such as Kuroki and Collect to traditional Herringbone fabrics and heavy cotton twills. Each style is created with superior fabrics, which are inspired by Tom’s archive of vintage military and workwear pieces.
Included in the collection are military shirts made with Herringbone fabrics, denim overalls, 1950’s inspired workwear denim coats, and US Navy-inspired gunners smock to highlight a few.
