Butts And Shoulders Presents New Worker Boots
The new Butts and Shoulders Worker Boots are landed. After our successful Classic Boots, which we launched three years ago, it’s time for a next step. A big brother boot of our classic. We showed our Worker Boots already during the Selvedge Run trade show last January in Berlin. The reactions were overwhelmed and we couldn’t wait to get them in production. As Fall is slowly kickin’ in it’s the perfect timing to introduce these new boots.
Just as our classic boots, these new ones are also produced with the authentic Goodyear Welted system. This means that these boots will shape to your own feet and are re-soleable. The sole is developed by us and is inspired by the original American workwear boots. It gives you extra grip while wearing them on your daily mission.
Natural Vegetable Tanned Leather
The core of our Butts and Shoulders brand is that we use natural vegetable tanned leather. This leather is unique as it’s the most pure leather. It’s tanned without any chemicals which means a slow and time consuming process. During the tanning process there isn’t any colour added to the leather. The outcome of the leather is clean, but very strong. While wearing these boots the leather will change. All the marks from weather and stains will change the colour of the leather. It will slowly change into a warm cognac colour. Every pair will be different, and therefore unique in the end.
The production took place in a small factory in Portugal. This factory is known of their high-quality made boots. They’re specialized in the production of army boots. To produce boots as these is pretty intense and complex. There’re so many different steps needed to produce these boots. The craftsmanship is something that isn’t so common anymore and most of the workers in the factory are there for such a long time.
The last is developed by ourself in order to get the best and the right shape. This is crucial for a perfect boot that fits everyone. On the side of the boots are stitches that are done by hand which gives them some extra character. The eyelets have the same colour as the speed hooks. And as always there’s an extra pair of darker (black) laces added.
The First Run
The boots are designed in The Netherlands and made in Portugal. The first run are 100 pairs and are all unique numbered as the rest of our footwear collection. The size range runs from 6 UK to 12 UK.
