Concrete Matter Carries A Fine Selection Of Vintage Clothing

Concrete Matter Since 2012

Concrete Matter is one of the highlights to visit in Amsterdam when it comes to vintage clothing. The store started its journey in the summer of 2012 by Jacob Garvelink and Tomas Huveneers.

First, the store was online represented as Concrete Matter, The Man’s Gift Co. Soon, they opened their pop-up store on the Haarlemmerdijk in Amsterdam. In October 2013, they opened Concrete Matter The Man’s Gift Co. at Haarlemmerdijk 127. This journey lasted five years. With a collection of items that could best be described as a mix between Indiana Jones and Ernest Hemingway.

The Store At The 9 Streets District

In 2016, Concrete Matter found a second location in the beloved 9 Streets District in the city center of Amsterdam. At this new location at the Gasthuismolensteeg 12, they started to sell clothing for the first time. First, they partnered up with the Pike Brothers brand, and quickly expanded its collection with a fine curated selection of vintage clothing. In 2017, they decided to fully focus on the clothing store and therefore closed their store on the Haarlemmerdijk.

Quality Goods And Curated Vintage Clothing

Concrete Matter’s collection of curated vintage started to expand and along that the name for the place to be when looking for unique quality items grew as well. The collection within the store shifted from a very wide collection of goods to a more focused selection of quality goods and curated vintage workwear, denim, and military clothing.

At Concrete Matter you can find that long-searched camouflage jacket or pants. They carry a very wide selection of all different kinds of army styles. You can also score that perfect worn-in leather flight jacket, and pilot sunglasses that matches perfectly. Also, there are many special treasures to find in the sportswear, workwear, and Ivy-look corners. And not to forget a perfect classic pair of selvedge jeans by Pike Brothers are present. You can also go for one of the vintage denim styles at the store. Even for small must haves it’s the place to be as they have many cool accessories available from books, and magazines, to bags, socks, belts, gloves, hats, you name it.

The Growing Vintage Movement

The need for quality goods and curated vintage is only growing at the moment. A counter-movement to the wasteful practices of fast fashion and consumerism Concrete Matter fully supports.
