The New Denim Days Website
A few weeks ago Denim Days launched their new fresh website as an extension of their popular denim festival. Since 2014, each year Amsterdam turns blue and forms the center of attention for all those with an indigo heart. Denim Days brings with their event together the community and consumers, addicts and fanatics, brands and buyers, to celebrate its unique denim passion.
Now, they offer exactly the same ingredients as their must-visit festival with their brand new website. So, next to get inspired and informed about the industry you can also shop that unique item that will be your next favorite. One of these products is the Denim Days x 877 Workshop customized denim tote bag.
About 877 Workshop
877 Workshop is run by couple Sylvia and Daniel Janssen from Hamburg, Germany. The husband and wife team loves almost forgotten crafts and techniques and brings them back to life with their new designs. Since 2012 they manufacture casual goods for men with a contemporary and effortless look in their workshop.
Buying the Denim Days x 877 Workshop denim tote bag you have the opportunity to add your name or initials to give it an extra touch. The stitching will be done by 887 Workshop with a rare chain stitching machine from 1920, it is operated freehand by turning a crank handle so the operator writes stitched lines on the fabric. Each embroidery is one of a kind with a great handcrafted vintage look.
The Chain Stitch Machine
These authentic chain stitch machines were used from 1845 to 1980 for customizing bowling shirts, varsity jackets, cheerleader sweaters, or biker vests as well as for embroidering elaborate patterns on uniforms, gowns, and draperies. In motorsports, large advertising slogans were stitched on the back of the racing team’s overalls. Nowadays this work is done by computer-operated embroidery machines but the results look very different. Hand-operated chain stitch embroidery is unique with a charming handcrafted look and feel, a computer can’t produce this special look.
Your Name Or Initials
On the denim tote bag, there’s space for a maximum of 8 letters. They don’t embroider words in uppercase letters, numbers, or illustrations, but a little heart is possible as embroidery. You can choose between colors red, white, yellow, orange, cyan, green, light blue, and pink.
