About Denim Design Lab
Denim Design Lab aims to concentrate on vintage replicas. Designs and silhouettes that are based on real vintage workwear. A style that lasts a lifetime, so, not a season. Starting from the absolute best materials available, they transform selvage denim woven on vintage shuttle looms into modern masterpieces, borrowing key design lines and construction techniques from vintage workwear jeans, in comfortable modern fits, to create so-called modern vintage styles.
Cone Denim White Oak Fabric
For the Tubman Railman, jacket Denim Design Lab used a fabric from the legendary Cone Denim White Oak mill from Greensboro, also known as Jeansboro in North Carolina. The plant that unfortunately closed their doors, but luckily this item is made of the fabric so you can still own a piece of denim history. The fabric is a non-selvedge 13oz right-hand twill fabric, 100% cotton. It has a beautiful structure with different levels of indigo.
The jacket has been soaked once and hung dry in the sun to stop the ‘indigo bleeding’. So, ready to wear!
