Eat Dust Founded In 2010
Eat Dust is a Belgian brand founded in 2010 by Rob Harmsen and Keith Hioco, longtime friends from Antwerp. Drawing on their years of experience at international denim and fashion brands they set out to create something unique.
The Inspiration Of The Brand
The brand’s collections are inspired by a diverse range of influences. From streetwear and military styles to Americana, Western themes, and timeless classics rooted in various subcultures. Along with their shared passions for skateboarding, music, and motorcycles. The result is a contemporary brand with a distinct identity that stands out in the fashion world.
Eat Dust offers head-to-toe collections, using the finest sourced fabrics from around the globe. Their range includes everything from caps, t-shirts, and sweatshirts to jackets, pants, and jeans, covering all the essentials.
All production of the brand is kept within Europe. This as the brand prioritizes craftsmanship, tradition, expertise, and a commitment to human dignity and respect in their manufacturing process.
The Girls Of Dust Collection
In 2016, Eat Dust expanded its menswear line by launching a women’s collection called Girls of Dust (G.o.D.). Like the men’s collection, it is built on the same principles of quality and durability.
The collection is led by Aline Walther, who studied alongside co-founder Keith at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Designed to be both easy to wear and as strong as the women who wear it, the collection is available through select retailers worldwide.
The Eat Dust Stores
The brand launched its first flagship store in Antwerp, Belgium in 2020. Following its success, another store was opened in Paris, France, and this year it expanded further with a store in Amsterdam. The stores feature both the Eat Dust and Girls of Dust collections, along with a curated selection of specialty items, including books, footwear, and jewelry.
The store adresses;
- Antwerp: Volkstraat 2, 2000 Antwerp; Belgium.
- Paris: 34 Rue Yves Toudic, 75010 Paris, France.
- Amsterdam: Leliegracht 24, 1015 Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The Eat Dust Loose Tapered Fit 73
The article highlights the Eat Dust Fit 73, a loose-fitting, tapered-cut pair of jeans with a lower crotch. Crafted from 13.25oz right-hand double ring Japanese selvedge denim with a light-blue ID, these jeans feature two reinforced back pockets adorned with the brand’s signature Z-bar stitching in two-tone color. The top copper button is branded with Eat Dust (and the brand’s pay-off: ‘One for the Road’), while the fly is secured with double prawn buttons. The classic V-stitch detail can be found behind the top button. And a leather brand patch is featured on the back.
For added durability, the jeans are triple-stitched along the inside of the legs. Inside, the pockets are printed with all the unique details of the jeans.
This pair has been heavily worn daily for over two years (and never washed) and holds extra sentimental value. They were worn on the day my daughter was born, February 6, 2014. I marked this special milestone on the inner pocket as a lasting reminder.
Over the years, these jeans have developed heavy fading on the front, with pronounced whiskers and honeycombs on the back. They’ve been repaired multiple times. The left back pocket shows the distinct fading pattern from the leather wallet I carried daily. Overall, this pair of Eat Dust jeans showcases perfect fades and a rich patina on the greencast selvedge denim.
