Traditional Techniques Combined With Workwear Styles
Japanese brand FDMTL combines traditional techniques with workwear styles in a new way. The outcome is always surprising and outstanding. Within their Spring Summer 2022 collection, they have several cut and sewn denim shirts. They refer to authentic Japanese boro’s which are made from different indigo panels which have a brilliant outcome.
Different Colored Fabrics
The denim shirts by FDMTL are carefully sewn by setting the number of needles finely. By sewing with different colored fabrics on the left and right sides, it looks as two shirts have been joined together.
Details Of The Shirts
The silhouette of the shirts is slightly wide with a drop-shoulder design. Since it is made of indigo material, the seams will develop a stain as you continue to wear it, making it your own unique piece.
On the chest are two pockets, one with button closure, and one pocket design that can be seen on older shirts which are designed to store your pocket watch or your cigarettes.
There’s also a version made with Sashiko stitches and repairs. As always, the FDMTL shirts are produced in Japan.
