Ginew Heritage Coat With Lining Woven By Pendleton
The Native American apparel brand Ginew developed the Hertiage Coat with a lining which is woven by Pendleton. The Heritage Coat is an authentic and classic worker jacket with a contemporary fit. These coats were more than just garments in the Ginew history. They were work tools, worn in machine shops, and fields by relatives who dedicated themselves to the hard labor of providing for their families.
For the fabric of the coat Ginew used White Oak Cone Mills fabric. The fabric is a 13.75oz selvedge fabric which is woven in 2017. These are one of the last meters produced by this legendary denim mill in the U.S.A. Read here about the closing of the U.S.A. plant by Cone Mills.
All the hardware of the Heritage Coat are custom made for Ginew. The arms are linend with quilted silk lining for extra warmth. The body of the jacket is lined with fabric woven by Pendleton.
Ginew X Pendleton Lining
Ginew teamed-up with Pendleton to this special ‘We walk together’ wool blanket lining. The pattern of the blanket refers to the origin of the Ginew Native family roots. The ‘We walk together’ blanket colours represent the sacred day (sunrise to sunset) and wampum belt (purples), teachings which impart values to guide Ginew in their life together. The lodges are in the shape of traditional Ojibwe and Oneida dweillings. The crest fuses timeless symbols from each of their tribels. Together the colours and symbols represent how they value traditional beliefs in their home as they walk the journey of life together. The Ginew Heritage Coat is made in the U.S.A.
