Hand Made Kiriko X Mutsu Boro Noragi Jacket
Kiriko teamed-up with Prospective Flow designer Mutsu for a very special Boro Noragi jacket. This collaboration jacket is made with original vintage Boro scrap fabrics from Japan.
Traditional Noragi Farmer’s Jacket As Base
For the jacket, they used a traditional Noragi farmer’s jacket as a base design. They provided Mutsu around 80% to 90% of the vintage Boro fabrics which are used for this unique piece. He combined these fabrics with indigo African textiles to create beautiful layers and patches. To make the jacket stronger, and also more beautiful, there’re Sashiko stitches added by hand.
Also, some repairs are also done by hand. The closure of the jacket is silver, which can be opened, and closed, very easily.
The U.S.A. Meets Japan, And Africa
The Kiriko X Mutsu jacket is made in the U.S.A., so in total the jacket is a perfect mix with the U.S.A., Japan, and Africa.
