Limited Range Of Sashiko Art By Sashikodenim
Denim repair artist Pey from Sashikodenim created a limited range of Sashiko art. This series is made so everyone can own a piece of denim art made with the authentic Japanese stitching technique.
Made By Old Pairs Of Jeans
The Sashikodenim art pieces are all one of a kind as each shows different stitching patterns and also different denim fabrics. The denim fabrics used for this series come from Pey’s kids, who wear these jeans day in day out and achieved some heavy fades. Instead of throwing these old trashed jeans away, he used them to upcycle them so they now have eternal life. The combination of denim fabrics and white thread comes perfectly together.
Each piece of art is framed with hand-dyed wooden frames. In total, the series consists of 8 unique pieces of textile art showing worn and repaired denim pieces.
The Deep Blue Series By Sashikodenim
Next to the worn series, there is also the deep blue series which contains 3 pieces. The deep blue series is hand-stitched in two tones. The fabrics are Japanese deep indigo of different textures, fixed together by the signature white stitched Pey uses in his Sashiko repairs.
Numbered And Signed
Each piece of Sashikodenim comes in hand-dyed wooden frames, 25 x 25 cm. And, each item is numbered and signed, to make them extra special. They will be available online very soon at Sashikodenim.
