Levi’s Interview At Dutch Radio
Yesterday evening I was asked to do an interview for the Dutch radio NOS. The radio program called is ‘Met het Oog op Morgen’ with presenter Coen Verbraak. I was asked to talk about the Levi’s celebration: 150th anniversary of the 501 jeans.
This popular radio program is already on air since 1976. Each day at the end of the day. It highlights and overview of the news, the morning newspapers and journalistic interviews with people in and behind the news. And of course, always framed by good music.
The Rivet Celebration
The official celebration 501 day is this upcoming Saturday, May the 20th. 150 years ago this was the day Levi Strauss got it’s now legendary ‘rivet’ patent together with tailor Jacob Davis. More about the history of the rivet here. This day is seen by many as the starting point of blue jeans as we know it today.
