JWJ ‘El Patron 2’ Duck Brown Canvas Jacket
The new jacket by the JWJ brand just landed. And yes, they created again a master piece. It’s made as a follow-up on their previous El Patron jacket. The version that’s made of denim fabric. For the new jacket the Spanish brand from the island Mallorca used the classic brown duck canvas. The silhouette is the same as the previous one, inspired by a worker jacket from the end of the 19th century.
The new JWJ duck canvas jacket is called El Patron 2. The jacket is a triple pleated jacket. For the shape they used a more biker style silhouette, kind of a V-shape. The cuffs of the jacket are also biker proof. On the front they added two pockets on a different level. The collar is round shaped. And the back is extra strength with thread. This to wear it easily up.
The ‘El Patron 2’ Fabric And Details
The heavy duck canvas comes from the Japanese Nihon Menpu mill. It’s a 15.5oz sturdy fabric with a beautiful deep warm colour! The fabric is washed once, so it will not shrink anymore. If you prefer you can treat the jacket with a wax to make it also more waterproof.
On the jacket there’re branded JWJ hardware from YKK. The buttons and rivets have the JWJ branding to make it more special. They’re fastened with leather washers for extra strength. On the front of the jacket are authentic pleats. And the back shows a classic cinchback. The El Patron 2 jacket is made in Barcelona.
Founders of JWJ, José Luis Vives and his uncle José ‘Pepin’ Vives, did again an amazing job. They’re true craftsmen that creates high-quality items that gets better with age. The more you will wear it, the better the outcome!
