Kapital Spring Summer 2019 ‘Bob Marley’ Collection
The new Spring Summer 2019 collection of Japanese brand Kapital is dedicated to reggae superstar Bob Marley and the Jamaican island vibes. Within the collection, you can see links to the albums Talkin’ Blues and Uprising from Bob Marley.
Talkin’ Blues And Uprising
Talkin’ Blues is an album from Bob Marley & The Wailers which came out in 1991, 10 years after the death of Bob Marley. It’s an album with songs recorded between 1973 and 1975. A mix of songs and interview fragments. The other inspiration album for the new Kapital collection is the Uprising album. This one came out in 1980 and is the last album which hit the market when Marley was still alive and jamming. Only a few months after this release he would pass away, unfortunately.
The Collection
The Kapital collection contains a lot of denim as Marley was also a huge fan of double denim outfits, especially when he was on stage spreading his freedom messages. The denim jackets in the collection are patched with tour patches of Marley, and the shirts have embroideries with lions, the word Exodus (another Bob Marley album from 1977), colorful flowers, so typical Marley, rasta and Jamaican references. There’re also colorful pants included, t-shirts with prints, rasta colored suits, denim coveralls for both men and women with green and yellow prints.
This dedication collection to the legend Bob Marley shows that he’s still alive and influence people every day. Irie Kapital.
