Kiriko Patched Kikko Obi Kendo Jacket
This one of a kind Patched Kikko Obi Kendo Jacket by Kiriko is based on a vintage Kendogi. The brand used Japanese fabrics and transformed them into an unique and timeless piece. They made just one of these, so you have to be quick before it’s gone.
Kendogi Jackets
Kendogi jackets are martial arts jackets meant for Kendo. This is a sport practicing swordsmanship with wooden swords. Kendo armor was introduced when the sport was introduced in the late Edo period, far after Samurai were abolished from Japan. Modern Kendogi jackets are made in the same traditional styles as those adopted generations ago.
Details Of The Jacket
This Kendogi is made of a thick embroidered Sashiko cotton fabric from Japan. Each piece is dyed with a deep indigo that fades beautiful with time. The dye and the embroidery are both done to make the fabric more durable. Most jackets are made to last 5 or 10 years of daily practice.
The Sashiko stitched fabrics in combination with the indigo and colourful ones is a perfect combination. Wearable to use for your Kendo practice or as a daily jacket with your denim outfit.
