Last season, Manifattura1887, the luxury fabrics division by Berto Industria Tessile, teamed-up with 3×1 Store in New York for a special event. Manifattura1887 shipped directly from Italy their handloom to NY to show how they make indigo selvage fabrics by hand on an authentic shuttle loom. With this special event they want to highlight and celebrate authenticity, craftsmanship and high quality. The 3×1 denim store, owned by Scott Morrison, is a true denim temple and the perfect place to kick-off this special blue experience tour. The weaver of the loom, Elena Sanguankeo, has thus demonstrated to the selected clientele of the store how she creates, with her 3.000 strokes per metre, a unique and authentic fabric of inestimable value. With this handloom you can only produce three meters each day. The handwoven denim fabric collection is called Le Mani by Manifattura 1887. Check out the great pictures from the store event and see how Elena is making handwoven denim fabrics. This is just great!
