The Inspiration Of The Sneakers

The Levi’s x New Balance sneakers are inspired by 1970s mountain bike colors and the birthplace of this popular bike type, Marin County. The story behind this collaboration goes back to the early 1970s. A group of mountain bikers started riding their Klunker paperboy bikes up and down the fire protection roads in the mountains. With the steep, rocky, and unforgiving nature of this new terrain, a Levi’s denim kit was soon adopted because of its durability. It was the ultimate outfit for protection and timeless style.

Now, Levi’s and New Balance came together to draw inspiration from these mountain bike pioneers. The outcome is a nod to the mountain biking culture in Marin County.

The Features Of The Sneakers

The Levi’s x New Balance sneakers are based on the MT580 icons of the footwear brand. This time they modernized the look of a slimmed-down toe and reduced collar height. Combined with a supportive, cushioned midsole and New Balance’s signature Rollbar technology. The sneakers are made with hairy suede upper, and a washed black Levi’s denim fabric on the toe box and the side panels. Next to that, the legendary Red Tab is included as well. Each sneaker will come with a set of three different colors of laces. Easy to style your sneakers exactly how you like them the most.

The sneakers are made in two different color variations: grey blue and beige black. The beige black version is featured in the article. The collaboration is out now!
