Three Classic Silhouettes In Premium Suede
Levi’s Vintage Clothing’s Spring Summer collection is focused on the 1980s Manchester dance culture. As a follow-up on their clothing collection, they collaborated with Clarks Originals with matching colorful footwear styles. They used three classic silhouettes in premium suede with nubuck detailing; the Wallabee in cotton candy pink, the Desert Boot in sky blue, and the Weaver in sandy yellow.
The Collaboration Styles
The dancefloor came alive in the eighties with alternative rock and dance music, while wearing baggy jeans, brights colors, and psychedelic patterns. In tribute to the era, Levi’s Vintage Clothing collaborated on a collection of three classic silhouettes.
The Wallabee shoes are made with authentic moccasin construction and produced in bright pink.
The Desert Boots
The Desert boots were originally designed in 1949 by Nathan Clark stationed with the British Army in Burma. The inspiration came from off-duty officers wearing rough suede boots from the bazaars in Cairo. Desert boots are crafted from fewer than 20 pieces, each playing a vital part in delivering the perfect shape. The sky blue suede is a nod to the bold style that defined the Manchester acid house scene of the 1980s.
The last collaboration style, the Weaver, combines upper blanket stitching and collar detailing for a striking, stylized shoe. This sandy yellow reinterpretation features a moccasin-like construction, premium suede uppers, and signature crepe sole.
About Clarks Originals
The story of Clarks Originals began almost 200 years ago in 1825 when Cyrus and James Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that’s remained at the heart of what they do. And whilst now, as always, every pair of their shoes begins with a last carved by hand from a single block of hornbeam, advanced construction techniques, technologies, and contemporary materials help us deliver perfection tailor-made for the modern world.
In their archive, they have more than 22,000 Clarks styles that have influenced a revolution, defined a generation, and captured the imagination. One of the cornerstones of the brand is the iconic Clarks Desert Boot. This style is still relevant today and is a true classic. And, during the 1980s they created ground-breaking sports casual hybrids.
