Collaboration With Streetwear Pioneer
The latest collaboration by Levi’s is with streetwear pioneer and Human Made founder Nigo. The collaboration between both feels natural as Nigo is a serious vintage Levi’s collector already for ages. The outcome are two recreated iconic styles of the American denim brand.
Two Recreated Iconic Styles
The Levi’s x Human Made collab contains two must-have pieces for any (denim) collector. They used a 1944 pair of Levi’s 501’s and their authentic 506 Trucker jacket. Both items are Nigo’s favorites and both are made with Japanese artisan milled selvedge fabrics. The jacket shows an embroidery on the back, and also custom button shanks.
This latest collection, it’s all about modern details with nods to the past. Pair both pieces together for a fit that looks like it was pulled straight from Nigo’s archive.
The Campaign
The Levi’s x Human Made campaign brings these modern re-creations to life in a historic Japanese setting. It was shot on location at the Eirakukan theater, the oldest Kabuki theater in Japan still standing in its original location, and highlights many of the elements found in traditional performances.
