Who is Angelo Verga
Angelo Verga is a jewelery artist born in Pavia – Italy in September 1983. After graduating from Art School Brera in Milan, supported by professor Renato Galbusera, he immediately shows a keen interest in the plastic arts. Angelo was fascinated by materials and his first approach was with clay. Thanks to this he started to produce works on the theme of light that materialized into a synergy between ground and agglomerated luminescent breaks. This was an experience that soon will bring him to expand his know how in the vast panorama of the sculptures thus landing in the field of contemporary jewelery.
The grandfather of Angelo Verga was a watchmaker and his father an engraver, so the roots of creative craft work are in the family for some generations. Angelo get in contact with one of the most important Milanese goldsmith shops where he develops and refines the metalworking technique. After this Italian experience he was ready to go further and explore the world. He moved in 2013 to Germany to continue his dream and his work as a jewelery artist.
My Jeans collection by Angelo Verga
Angelo Verga developed a collection called ‘My Jeans’. With this collection Angelo pays a kind of tribute to his old pairs of jeans and combines this with his jewelery passion and artist skills. With ‘My Jeans’ he’s upcycling his old beloved jeans. He cuts interesting details out of his old worn-out jeans and put these with resin into a special press which creates new and interesting elements. These new creations are combined with high-quality silver. Also parts of the jeans as zippers, buttons and rivets are processed in some of his designs. The ‘My Jeans’ collection contains a diverse in products as rings and earrings.
The combination of the roughness of jeans and the smoothness of feminine forms makes the work of Angelo Verga outstanding and unique. His creations are all pieces of art. Its great to see that he’s giving his old pairs of jeans a second and eternal life through his craftsmanship in ‘My Jeans’.
