Last week, I visited the sustainable washing house @140fahrenheit.de in Mönchengladbach, Germany. This unique facility is settled in a former area for textile production, next to @ca FIT. Since it’s opening at the beginning of 2022, the 140Fahrenheit washing house has been producing fully sustainable jeans finishes. 💪

Last week, I visited the sustainable washing house @140fahrenheit.de in Mönchengladbach, Germany. This unique facility is settled in a former area for textile production, next to @ca FIT. Yesterday, a special release was launched by @redwingheritage and retailer @urbanstaroma from Rome, Italy. Together they celebrate that the first pair of Red Wing Shoes arrived 20 years ago at the store. The outcome of the celebration is a custom-made pair of classic 8833 moc toe boots, packed in a limited-edition special box. The boots are stamped with Urbanstar on the side and there’s a special celebration label on the tongue. In total, only 60 pairs are made. 👌

@grivecbros released a special limited-edition of their ‘Locker’.

Grivec Bros. about this new edition:

“We, Marcel and Roger Grivec., always like to experiment with new ideas. Now, we have come up with the idea to give our beloved Locker style an extra special touch. Therefore, we added special artisanal yellow paint on the welt of the back pocket. After many trials and errors, we’re happy that we found a way to add the yellow paint by hand properly as we love to do everything as much as possible in the authentic way.

For the paint, we chose yellow as this is together with white and burgundy the coolest color to wear on rigid (unwashed) jeans in our opinion. Next to that, yellow was also the main color in our identity of our Jeanspaleis store, which we used to run for 30+ years. The yellow paint will age nicely together with the unwashed 14 oz selvedge denim fabric itself. Over time, the yellow paint will fade, just like the indigo of the fabric.

This limited edition Locker is made in a small run of 30 pieces only!” 💪

Selvedge Sunday showing a promo @diesel selvedge flyer from the 1990’s of my archive. This orange selvedge was first used on their ‘Old Glory’ collection, later the Italian denim brand used it for their men’s jean styles the Kratt and Keetar and for their women’s Fellow style too.🔥

The @ca FIT (Factory for Innovation in Textiles) production facility opened its doors back in 2021. This special Factory for Innovation in Textiles location is set up to produce sustainable pairs of blue jeans. Jeans that are made from more sustainable materials through a process that includes greater automation and digitization. This European project is located in the Monforts Quartier in Mönchengladbach, Germany.
