The Collaboration
Nigel Cabourn teamed-up with Japanese cult designer Mihara Yasuhiro for a denim footwear collaboration. The footwear style comes in a low, and high-version.
Designer Mihara Yasuhiro
The design of the collaboration shoes are anything but traditional, and it could be said that they have more in common with the work of a sculptor than a footwear brand. In the design, some elements refer to the past, but there’s also a link to the future. This unique combination is a sort of signature for Mihara Yasuhiro.
Mihara was born in Nagasaki in 1972. He originally started with a desire to become an artist, and it was only whilst studying at the Tama Art University that he became interested in footwear.
Details Of The Footwear
The collab is made with a denim fabric upper, which had a hard washed treatment and is frayed. The heel is reinforced and shows the MY logo at the back. The shoes are stitched with a double-needle thread and have a rubber sole. For the eye-lets, they used silver ones, and white laces, a classic combination.
