The Nike SB Collection
Tomorrow Nike will launch another denim inspired style with their Nike SB collection. The Nike SB Low Dunk Sashiko edition.
In 2002, Nike introduced its SB brand. The Nike SB Dunk Low model was released, featuring a padded tongue and collar, along with ‘Zoom Air’ insoles. This style was more similar to other skate shoe styles than the corporation’s previous attempts. After the SB Dunk’s mediocre sales, Nike released four other models: The Nike SB Angus, Nike SB FC, Nike SB Delta Force, and Nike SB URL.
Details Of The Sneaker
The upper of the upcoming Nike SB style is made in two blue tones. The front of the sneaker is made in a light-colored blue suede, while the back is dark denim fabric. The upper is decorated with the traditional Sashiko stitching. Even the legendary ‘Swoosh’. Also, the Nike brand label on the tongue is fastened with the look of Sashiko stitching.
The back and printed insoles are also branded. It has a Zoom Air cushioning, and a rubber outsole with a blue element on the bottom.
The sneaker is coming with two different color laces, white and blue. So, you can choose which one fits the best in your opinion.
Sashiko Stitching Technique
The upper is decorated with Sashiko stitching details. These little stabs technique is coming from Japan and is authentic Japanese stitching decorative and reinforcement stitching technique. It means a little stab. Originally this form of hand stitching is used to repair worn places or tears with patches, making the piece ultimately stronger. It was done by farmers and fishermen in Japan.
