The Blue & Black Rainbow Collection
Today, Nudie Jeans released their new blue rainbow and black rainbow styles for this Fall. These styles are their declaration of love for the ever-evolving soul of denim. It’s a sort of homage that started their endless love for denim. Blue and black, and all the shades and hues in-between, like colorful rainbows.
Japanese Fabrics With Three-Color Rainbow Gradients
With the launch of these new styles, Nudie Jeans created jeans and jackets crafted from the finest Japanese selvedge denim fabrics. The styles are made with three-color rainbow gradients for the back pocket embroideries and vintage-inspired trims.
The Blue Rainbow Styles
The blue jeans and jacket are made with a 13 oz. selvedge fabric with red ID from the weaving mill Yamaashi Orimono in Okayama, Japan. In this fabric, both warp and weft yarns have been ring-spun from unbleached organic cotton. The warp has been dip-dyed 11 times in pure indigo. The fabric’s structure and tactility are a product of the low tension under which the denim is woven. The protruding cotton fibers have been kept on the surface giving it its fuzziness. This rather sparse weaving process that from spinning to finishing is done by the great standards of the past and, above all, the craftsmanship behind it, is what gives this denim its unmistakable vintage look.
The jeans is a regular fit with a straight leg, while the jacket is a regular fit denim jacket with two patch-on pockets and straight yokes,
The Black Rainbow Styles
For the black rainbow styles, they worked together with the Kurabo mill from Fukuyama, Japan. The slightly slubby warp yarns have been dip-dyed 12 times, whereas the uniform weft yarns have been cone-dyed. This gives the warp yarn a clean white core that will crock off dye quicker than the weft. Giving the denim the ability to fade towards a clear grey hue while the weft, which mainly shows on the back of the fabric, will keep a darker shade that will show in the diagonal twill lines on the face of the fabric. The warp and weft yarns’ different structures will make the fabric pucker slightly, giving it a salt ‘n pepper look with highlighting grain at the warp slub that contrasts darker depots in between slubs.
The regular fit jeans with a straight leg come in a 13.25 oz. Japanese organic fabric. And, the slim-fit denim jacket is crafted from yarn-dyed black warp and weft, and with its texture, the aging property is first class.
