Another Must-Have Pair Of Jeans By Oldblue
After the exciting collaboration with Samurai jeans from Japan, the Indonesian denim brand Oldblue comes with another must-have pair. This time they worked together with the Vidalia Mills in Louisiana for a new classic five-pocket jeans.
American Woven Loom State Selvedge Fabric
The Vidalia Mills is an American denim mill that is making incredible selvedge fabrics on the Draper X3 shuttle looms that were used for the White Oak Cone Denim fabrics. Sadly this mill closed its doors a few years ago, but luckily Vidalia Mills is up and running to bring back the USA-made fabrics again. This time they made a 14oz selvedge fabric, loom-state, so Unsanforized and direct from the loom in a pair of jeans. The selvedge fabric with red and white lines has a hairy texture and a soft hand fell result, made with old school ring spun yarns.
The selvedge fabric by Vidalia might have some minor imperfections (subtle chatters, etc), but this is the beauty of imperfection and acknowledgment towards their progress, something you will also see on vintage jeans.
The Fit Of The Jeans
The new Oldblue jeans is made using their 7.75” Cut. This is their take on a classic slim-fitted jean cut. Its made with a medium-rise, this to keep it on a comfortable level where it won’t interfere you on doing your daily duty.
The Special Features On The Jeans
On the jeans, they used Oldblue branded buttons from Scovill USA, the same as the 100% copper rivets. The leather patch was made using the brand’s signature leather that they’ve faithfully utilized since 2011, the veg-tanned horse strips from the widely known Horween Leather Company of USA.
The inner pockets are made with Hickory striped lining fabric. The back pockets are strenght with hidden rivets. Other features on the jeans are raised belt loops, raised back pockets, and coin pocket with selvedge ID.
On the back pockets and the coin pocket is the Oldblue signature stitching used. For the finishing, they used two-tone double felled inseam construction, and also a two-tone chain stitched hem for that authentic look. The jeans itself is crafted in Indonesia.
