Soap Wrapped In Denim Scraps
Three By One is a new premium brand of small-batch organic products. The founder of the brand, Laura Dixon is based in Antwerp, Belgium. The organic soap of her brand is wrapped in denim paper which is made of scraps in India by Cadica Group SRL.
The Start Of The Brand
While traveling for her denim design job she came across a family-owned company with a proud heritage of being one of the pioneer coconut oil manufacturers in Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon.
This family has been already coconut oil millers in Sri Lanka since 1913. During the 1983 terrorist riots in Sri Lanka, their ancestral property and coconut oil mill were burned to the ground. In 2012, noticing the emerging trend for coconut oil, one of the sons reinstated the family business.
Fast forward to 2015, Laura was busy working for one of the big 3 denim brands and worked closely with the other son who had gone into the textile industry. A non-work conversation, about an idea she in mind had that never came alive, led her to hear the family story and before she knew it she had her jars of coconut oil on the way to Belgium.
