Orta Celebrated Energy Event In L.A. As Second Step Handprint Mission
This year Orta Anadolu celebrates it’s 65th anniversary with five different events held in five different cities. Each event has its own theme covered that belongs to Orta’s handprint mission and showcases an art piece that is inspired by the theme. The events were kicked off last April with the first step of their ‘Handprint’ mission in Amsterdam. This mission shows the present and embraces the future. The theme of the Amsterdam event was Water as Orta wants to save water in their entire denim production process. In case you have missed it, please read all about it here.
Energy Mission Event
For the next step of their ‘Handprint’ mission, Orta went to L.A. They organised again an unique event, this time focussing on Energy. In this energy-intensive industry, Orta will provide a sustainable future by reducing energy consumption through the handprint mission. Orta is committed to continue to utilize and expand more energy efficient practices in every part of their mills and headquarters and define Energy Positive practices of managing, harvesting, sharing and renewing energy. The denim mill believes in the power of collaborations. They will lead the way towards an Energy Positive Future and want to do so collaborating with different players within the industry.
During the event, Orta shared its future commitments regarding energy with the guests and exhibited another beautiful art installation, the Denim Field, made by Loop.ph. The artists Loop.ph describe Denim Field as “an immersive experience that celebrates energy awareness through sound and light”. The inspiration behind the art piece, a denim dome that guests can walk through and immerse themselves in it with layered, ephemeral and spatial projections, was energy as an experience and interaction among people.
The Next Events
The next events of the 65th anniversary celebrations will be held in New York, Istanbul and Hong Kong which will cover the following steps of the handprint mission. More about that later…In the meantime you can enjoy the photo recap of the L.A. event.
