Inspired By The Originals From The American Army
Pike Brothers just released a new denim set with a 1940s denim shirt and denim trousers. This new denim set is heavily inspired by the originals that were produced for the American army between the 1920s and 1940s. Soldiers were wearing these two styles as an alternative to green or camouflage styles, also known as the Army Denims, when they were in the field, but also when they were on work duties.
It was common to see soldiers in full battle gear with a nice indigo-colored uniform, wearing it most of the time over the regular wool uniform. The original fit of the Army Denims was very baggy, so they could quickly be put on over the wool uniform. In addition, the baggy fit provided lots of ventilation in the summertime, making the uniform not too hot.
The Pike Brothers’ version of this iconic uniform is made with a Japanese denim fabric that is custom woven for the brand.
The Pike Brothers 1940s Army Denim Shirt
The Pike Brothers 1940 Army Denim shirt is cut comfortably and is made as the original with two big chest pockets. The buttons are made of ivory nut, and the fabric is a beautiful 9 oz denim weave. This custom fabric has a great vintage touch and feel. The Army Denim shirt is produced in Portugal.
The Pike Brothers’ 1940s Army Denim Trousers
The Pike Brothers 1940 Army Denim Trousers are also cut comfortably and feature two big front and two big back pockets. The buttons on the fly are also made of ivory nut. On the back, there’s an authentic cinch back for quick size adjustment. This denim trouser is made of the same 9 oz special woven denim fabric as the matching shirt.
Comfortable To Wear All-Year Round
The Pike Brothers’ 1940s Army Denim styles can be worn as a set, how the soldiers used to dress, but can be worn perfectly separately too, of course. Due to the comfortable and lightweight fabric, both styles can be worn all year round, and will be more beautiful with time and wear. Just as your regular denim styles.
