Indonesia Meets Japan
Indonesian denim brand Oldblue announced their latest collaboration jeans with Samurai Jeans. With the collaboration of one of the Japanese finest, they create their first collab with a denim brand since their start. The collab jeans is a classic five-pocket, made of a 21oz selvedge fabric.
21oz Selvedge Fabric
In the Oldblue X Samurai jeans, they’re combining Samurai’s signature 21oz ‘Cho-Kiwami’ heavy-weight selvedge denim and Oldblue’s 21/23ozz heavyweight denim aka ‘The Beast’. With the 21oz, ‘Cho-Kiwami’ acting as the main fabric with Oldblue’s 21/23oz heavyweight was nicely featured on the more subtle parts of the denim build.
Unique Created Back Pocket Arcuate Stitching
The collaboration jeans is offered in two versions, raw, and a one-washed version too. The cut of these jeans is based on Samurai’s signature S710 cut, a clean slim straight cut. They designed a very special arcuate stitch on the back pockets that’ll be exclusively used in this collaboration style. It combines the original Samurai’s Yamato arcuate design with Oldblue’s current signature ‘Double-Looped’ arcuate design. The result represents both of the brand identities.
Special Collaboration Features
Another worth mentioning detail is the special artwork design on the leather patch, with each of the brands represented with its respective character. Oldblue with the Lone-Ranger Cowboy, and Samurai, with, of course, a Samurai. Other specially made details that’ll be exclusively utilized on the collaborations jeans are the special OBXSAM flasher (came with 2 different artworks) and the special OBXSAM woven label. Towards the jeans’ build, you can also witness many combinations of elements between the 2 brands; from their signature rivets, original buttons, to their particular labels and tabs.
Pre-Order Of The Jeans
The Oldblue X Samurai collaboration jeans are now available on a pre-order basis until mid-October. This January they will ship all the re-orders to the buyers so they can start the new year with a fresh denim project.
