Red Wing Shoes: 8819 Upper Tier Limited Edition
Today Red Wing Shoes launched a very special limited edition Moc Toe version: 8819 Oro-Russet Portage & Oro-Russet Abilene. This special is actually the first drop as in October Red Wing Shoes will launch another version of this style Upper Tier: 8818 Black Harness & Black Abilene.
The Moc Toe is one of the most iconic styles of the Red Wing Shoes collection. This particular style goes back to the fifties. It was made for sportsmen, but also for people who worked on farms and factories it was the perfect boot. The stitching on the toe is inspired by the construction of the moccasins, originally worn by the North American Algonquin Indians.
The Details Of 8819 Upper Tier
The new Red Wing Shoes 8819 Upper Tier model is a totally new and unique product. The combination on a Moc Toe with a combination of Roughout and Smooth leather has never been done before in 1981. Last September Red Wing Shoes teamed-up with Eat Dust for a collaboration Pecos boot. For this killer boot they used exactly the same two leather types. Roughout leather is created using a reverse-suede technique at their very own S.B. Foot Tanning Co. While most tanneries split, thin and weaken the hide to create the rough suede surface, Red Wing simply use the other side of the hide. By doing so, they avoid splitting or thinning their full-grain hides. This makes their Roughout leather just as strong and durable as their other unique leathers.
The 8819 Oro-Russet Portage & Oro-Russet Abilene boots will come with a leather lace, 80 inch, which customers can cut to length. The boots are packed with a special old school white box. They’re now available through Red Wing Shoes stores in Europe and selected retailers.
