Red Wing Shoes Introduces Lineman Style #2904
American footwear brand Red Wing Shoes introduces the new Lineman style. The launch of this Lineman #2904 is a Red Wing Store exclusive. This means that they’re only available through the official Red Wing stores in Europe.
Lineman boots are the style of work boots for electric line workers. A typical Lineman boot detail is that the eyelet rows pass through shoe laces extending till the toe. The feature allows that the wearer can fasten his boots more tighter around his feet. This in order to improve the safety of lineman working on high places.
The Red Wing Shoes Lineman boots are made with the classic oro-iginal leather. The boots have the famous traction tred outsole and the insole is made of leather. The boots are constructed with the Goodyear Welted construction. The hardware on the boots are nickel eyelets. And the laces are the Braided Taslan (tan/gold) ones.
The History From The Lineman Boots
The history of the Lineman goes back to the early 20th century. Working as a Lineman was known as one of the most dangerous jobs. Some say that one out of three lineman was killed by accident on duty. Therefore lineman needed extra safety during their work, so good safe equipment was key. This led that the lace-to-toe design was popular by the lineman workers. Early boots that had this lace-to-toe system appeared in Red Wing’s catalogue in early 1940’s.
