Exciting Jeans Collaboration
Sashikodenim teamed up with Phi. Denim for an exciting jeans collaboration. The collaboration jeans is based on the regular fit, PHI004_XX03, jeans and decorated with the authentic Japanese Sashiko technique by Sashikodenim. Together they created a unique piece of denim art.
Two Japanese Denim Fabrics
The base of the collaboration is Phi. Denim’s jeans which is made with Japanese fabric, woven on a shuttle loom in Okayama, Japan. This selvedge fabric is the translation of Phi. Denim’s Franco-Japanese signature timeless style. On the backside of the jeans, they added a special and unique created typical Sashikodenim pocket. The Sashiko denim stitching is done stitch for stitch, by the hand of course. The fabric of this pocket is a 16oz fabric from the Collect mills, also from Japan.
The traditional Sashiko stitches are a homage to the meditative Japanese running stitch. On this collab jeans, Pey, Mr. Sashikodenim, used his signature cross stitch pattern.
Two Extra Special With Each Jeans
These two Japanese fabrics blend perfectly together on this pair. The slow-made Sashiko pocket is stitched and bonded on the denim with laser-cut black cotton tape. Artisanal techniques and modern technologies are coming together in this collaboration pair. When buying this pair it will be delivered with two extra specials;
• A ‘denim repair’ voucher from the Sashikodenim workshop.
• An ocean wash (preferably done – after 6 months of wear) done by the Phi. Denim team.
Repair Don’t Replace
The collab jeans allow a new audience of denim heads to break in a pair of unwashed jeans. They start as a ‘blank canvas’ but will be personalized with time and wear. The jeans is ready to break in! Ready to start a denim journey. And, each pair is uniquely numbered to make them extra special from the beginning.
