Sweden Meets Japan
The Second Sunrise store in Stockholm, Sweden teamed-up with TCB Jeans for a special collaboration. TCB is a denim brand located in Kojima, Okayama in Japan. They have their factory where they produce and finish each item with their craftsmanship. All their items are inspired by original vintage pieces and are perfectly reproduced in the best way possible.
Two Respected Players In The Industry
The collaboration between these two respected players in the industry is based on an original pair of Swedish workwear pants that dates back to the 1940s. This pair was bought by the store in 2012 already and is part of their inspiration archive. Now, they decided to reproduce this pair with the skills of TCB in Japan after a chat on a Summer edition of a trade show in Berlin.

Based On Original Swedish Workwear Pants
The original pants were made by Swedish workwear brand Algots. There aren’t any markings on the pants that give an exact indication when it was produced, but they found a picture in an old catalog from 1945 where they were advertised. They were probably used by carpenters, painters, mechanics, and so on.
The pants feature some special details as the unusual cinch, extended belt loops, and a loop to hang a hammer or other work-related tool in. There’s also a small pocket on the right leg for the tool. In Sweden, they use(d) this pocket for your measuring stick.

For the collaboration pants, they used a lightweight indigo fabric. Next to the authentic look of the fabric, they also used old machines for all the seams, just as in the 1940s. This to achieve the look of the original.

The official release of the pants is tomorrow, so Friday the 17th of July. You can get them via the online store of Second Sunrise, of course, in their brick and mortar store in Stockholm.
