Lee 101 x Long John Collaboration
Honored and proud to announce that I’m part of the new Lee 101 collection shoot for this Fall Winter ’22. I was asked to collaborate with the new Lee 101 collection, and as Lee is one of my favorite top denim brands I didn’t have to think twice. With this special premium collection, Lee Jeans is making each season collections that are inspired by their archive pieces. And since I’m collecting these vintage styles for many years too it was the perfect occasion to collaborate.
Classics Mixed With New Styles And Innovative Fabrics
The Lee 101 collection features core styles that are always part of the collection, such as their legendary 101Z, 101S, and 101 Rider jeans. Next to that, they always have authentic crewneck sweatshirts made of heavy fabrics, classic clean t-shirts, and Western denim shirts.
Next to these, for this season they produced their Loco jacket, but this time made with 77% cotton and 23% true hemp. The outcome is an original feel of comfort-driven functional workwear, but with a modern twist. To accomplish the jacket, they also made their Carpenter pants in the same dry denim fabric.
The New Lee 101 L Style
A new denim style is the 101 L, a relaxed loose fit pair of jeans. It’s made with a 13.75oz Japanese selvedge fabric from the Kaihara mill featuring a white and blue selvedge ID. The threads are colored with natural indigo instead of the more common synthetic indigo nowadays. This means, guaranteed beautiful future fades.
A Brown Dry Selvedge Fabric
Another highlight in the collection are the two pieces that are made with a brown dry denim fabric with a green selvedge ID. They used this 14oz fabric for two of their icons: Storm Rider jacket and 101Z jeans. This dry brown denim fabric will age nicely with wear, just like the regular indigo versions.
The Authentic Bib Overall
A Lee 101 collection isn’t complete with one of the cornerstones of their long denim history. Therefore they produced their Bib Overall again. The fit of this style is relaxed, with easy room straight through the leg, which can be rolled according to your taste. It’s made with a combination of cotton and low-impact hemp. It is a strong dry denim fabric, but has excellent movement and comfort thanks to the way it is constructed, using Lee’s special Jelt denim.
