The Pakistan’s largest vertically integrated denim company started their business in 1983 and expanded their business with a denim division in year 2007. The development followed in the coming years with design and development studios, larger denim mills, global offices, an open-end spinning mill with a recycling plant and the expansion will continue with upcoming investments in spinning, denim and garment sides.
Cradle to Cradle, And The Collaboration With The Fabricant
Believing in the power of merging technology with responsible design and manufacturing to present innovation, Soorty introduced a whole line of C2C GOLD CertifiedTM fabrics in their SS2020 collection with a collaboration with The Fabricant, an Amsterdam based digital fashion house.
The Fabricant aims to show the world that clothing does not have to be physical to exist. With a focus on the fashion industry, they use tools from the film visual effects industry such as motion capture 3D animation software and body scanning to produce hyper-real digital fashion experiences. Combining fashion and animation industries, they produce digital fashion content for both digital and physical channels.
Soorty and The Fabricant came together for a revolutionary step in the fashion industry and launched the world’s first digital denim garment, prepared as an expression of emotion to demonstrate the beauty of the cradle to cradle principle.
What Is Cradle To Cradle?
Cradle to cradle is the process of returning every single material used back to the soil it came from, through an intricate process of creation and disintegration. This is a design system for developing sustainable products based on circular design and all the raw materials and processes used in the manufacturing of C2C GOLD range are sustainable and certified.
Soorty’s C2C GOLD CertifiedTM denim line offers a wide selection of fabrics ranging from light to heavy weight in stretch and non-stretch constructions and was launched with an artisan techno approach. The digital garment was fully created in 3D with no fabrics being touched. As the concept is all about appreciating the precious limited natural resources our planet offers us, it felt more than natural to present it in a digital fashion. Using the digital craftsmanship along with the uniquely crafted engineering techniques, the collaboration is not wasting any material and using solely data.
With this innovative collaboration Soorty is making a new step into the future of fashion.
