Tales From Behind The Red Wing Shoes Vienna Store Counter
One of the returning articles in the printed Red Wing Shoes Post is ‘Tales from behind the counter’. This topic highlights the unique customer’s stories from one of the Red Wing Shoes stores. Just as a well worn pair of Red Wing Shoes, also their customers have great stories to share. From now on we will publish and share these stories straight from the latest Red Wing Shoes Post.
The first shared tales is taken from the last issue, No. 5 Travel Issue, and is told by Jacob Arnold from the Red Wing Vienna store.

The Tale By Jacob Arnold
”When we opened the Red Wings Shoe shop in Vienna in 2016 we were unsure about the size of the fan base, but we were positively surprised by the interest on Red Wing products that emerged already during the renovation period. A nice surprise to us was to see a large number of customers from outside of Vienna coming to the shop looking for the high quality boots and related care products, which make the Red Wings products unique and last a lifetime. Many of these early shoppers have been Red Wings fans for many years; they value the quality and the timelessness of the products. They come regularly to the shop for a coffee, to get care tips, or just to exchange some ideas, and by now they have become good friends.”
”One of our dear clients, Michael, lives just 3 blocks from our store. He casually popped by during the opening day and soon was amazed by the Red Wings story and it’s shoes, particularly the 8114 Iron Ranger caught his eye. So the next morning he came again with the intention of buying himself his first pair. He was impressed about the quality, the timelessness for which the boots are known since 1953 and the beautiful design, but after a couple of wears he left the shop with empty hands. The boots felt to stiff and uncomfortable for him. A typical reaction of first time buyers. (Do they hurt at first? A bit. But it’s worth it!) But as mentioned before, Michael felt in love with the boots so he was repeating the fitting process over a month, 2 to 3 times a week we would welcome him friendly, until he finally decided to buy his first pair of icons for a lifetime. 1,5 years later he owns 4 pairs of Red Wings boots. His wife also purchased her first pair not so long ago. She did not need more than 1 fit sessions and took her pair home after her 1st visit.”
