Tenue de Nîmes X Vans Indigo Authentic Collab Sneakers
Tenue de Nîmes will launch today their latest collaboration with Californian sneaker brand Vans. The collaboration is part of the 10-years anniversary of the Amsterdam based denim store. Within one year they will release 10 special collaborations. In November they released a special pair of jeans with Momotaro from Japan as part of their celebration. In case you have missed this one, check it here.
For the Tenue de Nîmes X Vans collaboration, they used the iconic Authentic OG style. They turned the sneaker into an Indigo Authentic version. The upper of the sneaker is made of special indigo chambray, which will fade with wear, just like a pair of jeans. The tongue of the sneaker has an embroidered Tenue de Nîmes store logo and on the outsole, the typical Amsterdam St. Andrews crosses. The insole has a sort of hidden secret, there’s a tiger design which is based on a vintage Hawaii shirt from the store’s archive. This shirt is found on a market at the Yoyogi park in Japan.
Limited Run
Each sneaker will be delivered with a set of two laces; one white pair with the Tenue de Nîmes logo and one blue pair for those who want to wear it a bit more cleaner. The collaboration is made for women and men in a limited run of 200 pairs. The collab sneaker will be available through both the Tenue de Nîmes stores at the Haarlemmerstraat 92 and Elandsgracht 60, and via their online store.
The Inspiration Of The Collab Sneaker
The inspiration for this collaboration comes from Locals Only, a book by Hugh Holland about the origins of skate culture in California. On the cover of the book is a photo of a shirtless skater in oversized blue jeans and Vans Authentics. For Tenue de Nîmes there is no better metaphor for the love story between Vans and blue jeans.

Launch Event
For the launch of the Tenue de Nîmes X Vans collaboration, they organized a store event today which will start at 6pm. During the event, you can get yourself tattooed with the St. Andrews crosses by Tycho Veldhoen and there will be live screenprinting of a limited t-shirt.
