Denim Meets Music
In the new special collection, Levi’s and the music band Grateful Dead are coming together. But, as they’re saying themselves, they were never apart as generations of ‘Dead Heads’, the community around the band, were using pairs of Levi’s as a canvas to express themself by customizing their jeans, t-shirts, and denim jackets.
With this collection, both are celebrating the ongoing popularity and creativity between both for this Summer.
The Grateful Dead Music Band
The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. The band is known for its eclectic style, which fused elements of rock, folk, country, jazz, bluegrass, blues, gospel, and psychedelic rock; for live performances of lengthy instrumental jams; and for its devoted fan base.
After the death of Garcia in 1995, former members of the band, along with other musicians, toured as the Other Ones in 1998, 2000, and 2002, and the Dead in 2003, 2004, and 2009. In 2015, the four surviving core members marked the band’s 50th anniversary in a series of concerts that were billed as their last performances together.
The Collaboration Collection
In Levi’s x Grateful Dead collaboration collection they’re fusing iconic graphics, tie-dye psychedelics in a range of special denim pieces, accessories, and customization options. The Dead is all about radical self-expression, so they asked some San Francisco musicians and artists, and ‘Dead Heads’, to show them how they’d make it their own.
In the collection, they added pairs of customized 501 jeans and denim jackets. There’re also graphic cropped sweatshirts, multicolored tie-dye fleece sweatshirts and hoodies, rainbow woven shorts, and bucket hats, for women and men.
The collection is out now, so you can embrace both legends, and start the colorful Summer of 2021!
