The Amsterdam-Based Brand
Yoost is a fashion brand by Joost ten Broek from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Joost is creating unique styles in limited runs as he’s only using leftover fabrics, just as this highlighted denim boilersuit. A genderless style that is also available in several other fabric options.
The Concept Of Yoost
Yoost was created when the Joost worked for many years in the fashion industry, but he always desired of starting his own brand. In 2016 he kicked off and used all his experiences so far. While most decisions are often based on numbers, stressful targets, product volume, and quantities, he came up with the idea to use only overproduction, dead stock, waste, and lots of fabrics that are left over in factories and warehouses. A mindset that fits perfectly nowadays.
Contributing The Circular Economy
With Yoost, Joost wants to make garments that contribute to creating a better world by making you feel and look good about yourself. Next to that, he also likes the idea of a circular economy and that is exactly why he sources his fabrics from Europe’s finest fabric houses, giving them a new life. Each garment has been handmade in Europe and is then numbered to highlight its rarity and individuality.
The Unique Features
The unique numbered unisex boilersuit is made from Japanese denim fabric with contrasting stitching creating a utilitarian silhouette. The pocketing inside is made from a vintage leftover shirt fabric. The boilersuit is made with a relaxed fit, it features chest pockets, and side pockets and is handmade in Sofia, Bulgaria. Only 16 pieces were produced, but a re-run made of selvedge denim fabric is in the pipeline, so stay tuned!
