The Second Edition Of The Indigo Invitational Denim Contest
The second edition of Indigo Invitational is in full swing right now. This is the world’s largest and most inclusive denim fading competition. More than 850 competitive faders registered for the competition, with dozens of countries and more than 100 brands represented. Every competitor starts with a pair of fresh raw denim of their choosing. This is the ticket to join the free contest. So, you can pick your favorite denim brand, fabric, and so on to rock it each day.
All fades must be earned, this means no sanding or pinching, or whatsoever. To ensure that nobody can fake or play false each competitor must submit monthly photo updates. These updates will also be shared on the Indigo Invitational Instagram feed to give the followers of the contest updates. The competition runs for one year, so 365 days. In the end, hundreds of faders will cross the finish line together on October 1st of this year.
Picking The Top 50 Denim Fades
In the end, the founders of Indigo Invitational, Bryan Szabo (more about Bryan here) and Dave Dickinson will be sifting through hundreds of images of faded pairs and picking 50 of the best fades. These top 50 fades will then be posted in the Facebook group, so the community can vote for their favorite fades. The top 16 pairs that get the most votes will go through to the final judging, and Bryan and Dave will pick 4 wildcards too.
The final top 20 will then be submitted to each member of the judging panel, who will pick their top 10. With a bit of discussion and deliberation, the panel will reach a final decision and the ten prize winners will be announced, probably around the end of October this year.
