The New Indigo BWS-03 Overshirt

Benzak released the double indigo style of their BWS-03 overshirt. This as a successful follow-up of their army green, sand and denim versions. These overshirts were originally made with functionality in mind, and are nowadays a cornerstone in every men’s wardrobe as you can wear them all year round.

This popular style can be worn as a lightweight jacket or shirt, so perfect for these Spring days. And, they get better with wear and age, just as your pair of jeans.

The Fit Of The Shirt

Benzak’s BWS-03 style is based on authentic military and workwear shirts from the 1960s. The regular fit design of the shirt is timeless and authentic with two chest pockets with flap closure, and the cuff slits are finished with a continuous strip for durability, while the bottom is cut straight.

The Double Indigo Fabric

The fabric of the shirt is a deep-dyed 11oz double indigo herringbone fabric, which means indigo on the warp, and indigo on the weft. This creates an all-over dark blue look. Herringbone fabrics can be seen in vintage military and workwear styles. The herringbone weave construction gives the overshirt a rich and authentic look.

The 100% cotton herringbone fabric is rinsed, to take out the indigo bleeding and also shrinkage. But, there’s still a lot of indigo concentration left on the threads, so you can achieve high contrast fades with wear. The fabric is woven by the Japanese Collect Mill, known for its high-quality fabrics.

Other Unique Features

The overshirt is made with cotton-poly core-spun heavy-duty stitching and features dark navy military buttons. On the bottom is Benzak’s signature indigo-dyed bull embroidery-stitched, and even the bartacks are indigo dyed. The labels are woven with 100% cotton base and polyester detailing showing the brand name plus the origin where the fabric is made. The shirt is produced in Portugal.
