Genderless Capsule Collection
The MYAR brand by Andrea Rosso recently launched its Re-Integration collection. This genderless capsule collection is dedicated to endangered animals living in different places around the world. Part of this collection is this Romanian jacket with the Greek viper.
The Print Represents The Greek Viper
With MYAR, Andrea Rosso is giving vintage garments a second life. It’s taking a stand against overconsumption and upcycles them so they’re ready for new adventures. The 100% cotton Romanian shirt is a 1990’s vintage military uniform jacket. The print represents the Greek viper. Continuous fires due to climate change make move these vipers in search of a new habitat. Ninety percent of current habitats will become inhospitable and unsuitable by 2080.
Info About The Greek Viper By Oryx Journal
According to the Oryx journal, the Endangered Greek meadow viper Vipera graeca is one of the world’s rarest snakes, endemic to the high-elevation alpine meadow grasslands in the Pindos Mountain chain of Albania and Greece. First recorded on the highest Greek mountains in 1985 and subsequently described as a unique subspecies 3 years later, it was elevated to full species in 2017.
Sadly the study ”Determining priority areas for an Endangered cold-adapted snake on warming mountain tops” predicts that 90% of its habitat will be lost by the 2080s as a result of climate change and habitat degradation.
Extra Features Of The Jacket
The MYAR jacket features a camouflage print with 100% cotton contrast panels with the Greek viper. The Poplin patches are printed and then applied. The patches are finished with low and tight overlocks. They’re attached to the front and on the back of the jacket.
