The Story Of Super Stitch
In 2003, the denim journey of Arthur Leclercq from Paris (France) started at a young age of 14 years. He was given his first pair of selvedge jeans. This pair of jeans gave him a direction in his life. Years later, in 2016, he bought his first chain stitch hemming machine to achieve his denim dream. With his Union Special 43200 G from the ’40s, he was able to recreate the original hemmings including the appreciated roping effects.
After a few months, he decided to expand and bought a vintage Singer machine too. This to offer a global denim care service including repairs and tailoring.
The next step was to create his pairs of jeans, so LR01 was born. Arthur dedicated his first jeans to his grandparents, Lydie and René, that’s why he named it the LR01.
The LR01 Style
The first Super Stitch jeans are a classic straight fit. A classic and design made to last. Inspired by Superstitch’s favorite denim era which is between the years 1972 and 1974, it features the technical characteristics and design methods of denim from this era.
It has a high waist, straight legs (with leg twist), and is single stitched like the late 1960s and early 1970s jeans. The jeans feature copper burr and aluminum rivets, Polycore threads, and are finished by length by Arthur.
The Denim Fabric
The denim fabric of the Super Stitch LR01 jeans is a 14oz Loomstate selvage. It’s coming from Hiroshima, Japan.
