Denim Gallery Project
Another new project from Tonello is ‘Denim Gallery’. Denim Gallery is a special project with dreams and visions of reality told by 10 talented designers from around the world. The designers include Grace Warland, Matias Sandoval, Serena Conti, Su Kim, Jon Rouleau, Mika Mitarai, Juan Manuel Gomez, Ilinca Trif, Stefan Vella, and Greta Giannini. The designers used denim fabrics from the Candiani Mill as their canvas for painting, staining, and assaulting in order to express themselves with artistic languages, materials, and concepts. With the outcome of the project the designers tried to answer a simple question: ‘What is reality for you?’. Tonello reinterpreted their answers using the latest technologies: from Laser Blaze to ECOfree, from Bohemia to NoStone®, from ECOspray to Core.
With the project, Denim Gallery, Tonello wanted to celebrate the thousands of potential expressions of jeans, emphasizing their multi-directional, multi-sensorial, multi-medial and multi-dimensional expansion with an original combination of art and fashion, painting and performance. The installation of the Denim Gallery by Tonello was displayed at the Kingpins fair and Blueprint Festival in Amsterdam during the Amsterdam Denim Days. The results of the Denim Galley are very creative inspirational pieces for denim designers. The project shows that the ‘sky is the limit’ as it comes to creativity and that the progressive machines from Tonello creates endless new finishing possibilities for the denim industry.
The Denim Galley project will also be part of the upcoming Bangladesh Denim Expo on the 17th & 18th of May.
