Making Products From Textile Denim Waste

White Weft is a design studio based in Brixton, London, making products from textile denim waste. Their products are sharply finished and good as new, crafted from quality materials worthy of another life. They make their products from textile waste because they don’t want to see perfectly useable materials in our landfills, oceans, or desert wastelands.

Each unique item is made in their Brixton workshop or with local London factories and ateliers where garment workers are paid living wages. They’re upcycling old pairs of jeans in all different kinds of types and use all different kinds of denim fabrics. The outcome are unique pairs for men and women. Next to that, they create outstanding accessories that complete your denim outfits.

Denim Slippers

The Denim Slippers are upcycled from offcuts and other denim industry waste. Each pair is different, but similar, with two-tone denim with a seam running down each foot and navy binding.

Baseball Cap

The Baseball Caps are made from their most treasured, 100% cotton, denim mill swatches. These swatches are collected and stored for a special project over a number of years. The caps are expertly crafted at a luxury goods Atelier in North London. The expert garment workers who make the caps are paid London living wage or above.

Big Patch Bag

The supersize Big Patch Bag is a carrier also made from denim swatches and offcuts. Every bag will be different but similar made up of different shades of indigo with some black, ecru, and grey panels. The bottom and handle are grey reverse side denim, rimmed with black cotton binding on the strap.

Patchwork Denim Bucket Hat

The Patchwork Denim Bucket Hat is made from fabric scraps that have low value for recycling and normally get shredded to insulation or mattress filling. Reusing them as a textile gives them an extra life. The hat is designed especially for these small pieces.

Off-Cut Tote Bag

The Off-Cut Tote Bag is made from swatches and denim wash trials that are rescued and remade into a patchwork. They’re combined with 100% recycled denim (made from old jeans by Artistic Milliners in Pakistan) which is the greyish fabric on the base straps and center panel.
